Micro Spike® is manufactured using a flat die extrusion calendering production process that creates a high-profile structured friction surface, without affecting the core thickness. The resulting structured profile consists of a roughened surface and a regular series of small spikes which are completely integrated with the base liner material (not a layered manufacturing process). As a result, the texturing is an integral part of the liner itself and there is no potential for separation under load or in use.

This calendered structured liner manufacturing process allows production of the only textured liner with a consistent core thickness, resulting in unchanged puncture, and tear values from smooth sheet. The consistent structuring on the surface gives our Micro Spike® geomembrane reproducible friction angle values with the highest surface friction values in the industry. This consistency in Agru’s Micro Spike® geomembrane gives the design engineer assurance that the design criteria will be reliably met throughout the project.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS OF HDPE
AND LLDPE MICRO SPIKE® LINERS:

Micro Spike® geomembrane is manufactured to meet or exceed all the GRI GM 13 (HDPE) and GRI GM 17 (LLDPE) liner test values, frequency of testing and functional requirements. These are the values and requirements established by the environmental lining industry.

Micro Spike® textured geomembranes have smooth edges to allow for the thermal fusion welding between adjacent sheets. All Agru geomembranes material is rolled on plastic cores to ensure ease of installation without damage due to collapsed cores.
